Chef Yau Shui Wing, Executive Chinese Chef, is preparing the rare Chinese delicacy of bird's nest, for an opulent ? la carte menu available every day throughout July at Summer Palace, InterContinental Bangkok. Greatly prized for both its exquisite culinary qualities and its health giving properties, the translucent nest is harvested from enormous limestone caverns in Southeast Asia and is one of the world's most exclusive delicacies.
Requiring meticulous preparation in the kitchen, the bird's nest has a gelatinous consistency, with a slightly crunchy undertone, adding intriguing taste and texture to savoury and sweet dishes alike.
Highlights of the special selection include baked mini egg tart with bird's nest, braised bird's nest with matsutake mushroom and bamboo fungus, and stir-fried bird's nest with dry scallops and scrambled egg.
Priced from THB 380++ per dish, the opulent bird's nest menu is available between 1 July 2024 to 31 July 2024 from 11.30 to 14.30 hours for lunch and 18.00 to 22.30 hours for dinner.
