St. George's University Hosts Education Agents Retreat Day to facilitate international partnership and enhance its programs/tracks knowledge

Last week, St. George's University (SGU) successfully hosted its Education Agents Retreat Day in Thailand from 11 - 14 June. During the retreat, over 25 key recruitment agents from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Korea, and Taiwan convened for a series of workshops at Dusit Thani Laguna in Phuket.

SGU is a center for academic excellence worldwide. With students and faculty drawn from more than 150 countries, SGU is truly an international institution with a global perspective. The SGU School of Medicine is accredited by the Grenada Medical and Dental Council, which has been recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).

The Education Agents Retreat Day was launched to bolster SGU's relationship with the agents who act as recruitment representatives in key East Asian markets, facilitating the application process of prospective students in these countries.

David Anthonisz, Executive Director, International Student Recruitment, at SGU said: "The launch of the Agent Retreat Day is a testament to our commitment to fostering international collaboration and ensuring our recruitment partners in East Asia are well-informed about SGU and its program/tracks. This understanding is essential in providing international students access to comprehensive medical education and vast professional opportunities in the US or the UK."

In addition to expressing gratitude towards the education agents' recruitment efforts, this event provided a platform for agents to engage in discussions about their students' career aspirations, gain deeper insights into SGU, understand MD program specifics, and explore the admissions process.

Nahpachsuda Cheerranichanunth, Counselor from Hands On, said: "The Agent retreat day has empowered me with the knowledge needed to effectively guide aspiring medical students. Additionally, participating in SGU's clinical workshop, which focused on life-saving techniques such as first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), has further equipped me with invaluable tools to support my student's academic and professional journeys."
