A delegation from National Pingtung University (NPTU) in Taiwan, by Professor Dr. Robert Y.S. Chen, the President, paid a visit to University of Phayao for the first time on June 18, 2024. Associate Professor Dr. Tipchan Wongchanta, Director of Chiang Rai Campus, and other UP Internationalization Working Committee members graciously welcome the honorable guests at Chushart Meeting Room, Office of the President Building.
The visit program started with a campus tour around UP campus to see the beautiful landscape, sports complex, classroom buildings, and facilities. The delegation was then led to UP Inno Shop by UPITI to learn about UP Products borne from university-community engagement, then to UPILI where innovative learning methodologies are professionally exercised, and finally to School of Liberal Arts to meet with the dean, faculty members, and Chinese major students.
Dr. Wongchanta gave a welcome remark on behalf of University of Phayao, giving a brief introduction and the future goals of UP which included 1) society wellbeing, 2) inclusive education, 3) environmental sustainability, and 4) international engagement. A friendly, yet informative and promising, discussion between NPTU and UP then followed. Among the issues brought into discussion were academic collaboration, research, and exchanges of faculty and students. The meeting ended with gift exchanges and group photos.
