June is Pride Month, a time dedicated to celebrating diversity and advocating for equal rights in society for the LGBTQIA+ community. Recently, True Corporation partnered with The Autistic Thai Foundation and Artstory by Autisticthai to host a special forum titled "The Pride of Diversity: Reflecting the Power and Beauty of the LGBTQIA+ Disabled Community." This event aims to highlight the perspectives and needs of LGBTQIA+ individuals with disabilities, empowering them to showcase their unlimited potential towards a more inclusive society. The event featured esteemed guests such as Mr. Boonrod Areewong LGBTQIA+ (YouTube), a person with disabilities from the Pu Kao Channel, and Mr. Ekaphop Phanthurat LGBTQIA+ (Transgender), renowned as the "Princess of PR." They shared their experiences and challenges as LGBTQIA+ individuals in Thai society, inspiring others with their stories of resilience and self-empowerment. The discussion also focused on promoting equality for intersectional groups, addressing the complexities between disability and sexual identity, and the crucial role of families in fostering acceptance and support in education, employment rights, and social stability.
In addition, they have also introduced the characters "Champ & Frank," Best Buddies Spreading Joy for the first time are introduced as representatives of diversity, created by Champ, an autistic artist from Artstory. Champ character is adorned in vibrant colors, reflecting his bravery in authentically expressing himself. Frank, Champ heartwarming companion, symbolizes acceptance and steadfast support for all differences. It's underscored that "Champ & Frank" are not just cartoon characters; they serve as symbols representing diversity, sensitivity, and respect for everyone's true identity. The "Champ & Frank" character set comprises 5 characters, available in various formats such as blankets, shirts, hats, and bags throughout the year 2024.
