Brand's Essence Of Chicken And The Thai Red Cross Society Extend The Duration Of 'GIVE BLOOD GIVE LIVES' T-Shirt Design Competition Under 'BRAND'S YOUNG BLOOD 2024' Project

Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd, the leader of health enrichment products under BRAND's trademark in Thailand and Asia and the National Blood Centre, the Thai Red Cross Society, announce the extension of the duration of T-shirt design competition featuring the 'Give Blood Gives Lives' concept, increasing an opportunity for students nationwide to join and win scholarships, certificates, and year-round supply of BRAND's products. The competition is part of the 'BRAND'S Young Blood 2024' project that has been running consecutively for 24 years. In addition to the rewards, the winning design will be made into a T-shirt, which will be given away to those who donate blood to the Thai Red Cross Society. The competition is open from today until 31 August 2024.

Mrs. Mathuvalee Stithyudhakarn, Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Affairs Director, Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd, shared that, "Aligned with our core value of 'Giving Back to Society', we strive to cultivate a conscience of a giver and to raise awareness about blood donation to ensure sufficient reserve of blood to meet yearly demand of the National Blood Centre, the Thai Red Cross Society. Recognizing the importance of the new generations' participation and the power of their creativity, we have launched the 'Give Blood Gives Lives' project that features a T-shirt design competition focusing on design related to 'self-preparation for blood donation and knowledge about the importance of iron for blood donation'. Held under the 'BRAND'S Young Blood 2024' project, the competition aims to raise broad awareness of blood donation. Students are welcome to join to win scholarships, certificates, and BRAND's Essence of Chicken products. The winning design will be made into a giveaway  T-shirt for blood donors."

Associate Professor Dootchai Chaiwanichsiri, M.D., Director of the National Blood Centre, the Thai Red Cross Society, mentioned that "The National Blood Centre, under the Thai Red Cross Society, has a mission to provide sufficient blood supply that meets quality requirements and highest international standards for patients across the country. In Thailand, the volume of blood donation is 2.5 - 3 million units each year. The 2023 statistics indicated that the number of young donors between 17 to 20 years old only accounted for 170,598 from 3,194,117 prospects. For this reason, an awareness raising campaign that promotes accurate understanding is needed to make young people appreciate the importance of blood. Furthermore, a cultivation of good conscience towards blood donation can also encourage young people to donate blood more, ensuring sustainable blood donation for the future. The cooperation under the 'BRAND'S Young Blood 2024' project will play a vital role in creating awareness and encouraging young people to start donating blood for the first time, as well as to initiate quarterly blood donation culture. With this project, it is expected that the volume of blood donation will reach 100,000 units. Currently, blood donation has reached 49,481 units through our mobile blood donation that has taken place at 64 universities nationwide from January to May 2024."

This year, the project continues to promote understanding and knowledge on the importance of blood donation among university students and staff to facilitate more donation. They are expected to become regular blood donors who consistently donate blood, making the allocation of quality and hygienic blood possible. Consequently, the country's blood demand can be sufficiently met. Students across Thailand are invited to join the project to express the spirit of Thai youth, reflecting their socially responsible mindset through both participating in blood donation and the T-shirt design competition.
