The first model to be launched will be a single-cab pickup, targeting transportation operators and businesses in Thailand, available for both fleet and retail sales.
"We're starting with the highest-demand model, which is the commercial vehicle, and will gradually expand to cover all segments later," Mr. Chalermchai explained. "We chose to partner with King Long because they are a leading electric vehicle manufacturer in China, with advanced EV production technology and over 30 years of expertise in designing and manufacturing commercial vehicles."
TTA's investment policy focuses on sustainable business growth under the concept of 'Smart Growth & Sustainability'. The partnership with King Long to bring electric pickup trucks to the Thai market is part of TTA's strategy to expand its investment portfolio in the clean energy sector.
"Entering the electric vehicle business is a significant step for us, leveraging TTA's experience in transportation and logistics," Mr. Chalermchai added. "We have established P80 Go Company Limited to specifically invest in the electric vehicle business and distribute King Long electric pickup trucks."
The King Long electric pickup truck has been designed for short to medium-range use, suitable for most commercial applications in Thailand. It has undergone rigorous testing to ensure adaptability to the country's environment and user requirements.
Mr. Liu Zhi Jun, President of Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd., stated, "The electric vehicle market in Thailand has high potential across personal, commercial, and other vehicle types. For the commercial electric pickup truck we're bringing to market, we focus on developing technology suitable for Thailand's environment and usage requirements, prioritizing economy, durability, value, and low maintenance costs. We aim to sell 1,000 units in the first year of market entry."
TTA and King Long are committed to being strong business partners in transforming Thailand's commercial transport sector to electric and driving the country towards sustainable transportation.
