"This year's festive theme continues our commitment to sustainability while paying homage to the island's rich agricultural heritage," says Shivan Pillay, Director of Rooms and Residences. The rice plants and flowers cultivated by the Resort's gardening team, led by Thada Whasakool, Sustainability Manager, alongside students, will be used to adorn the Resort's Christmas tree, symbolizing growth and the nurturing of traditions. After the festive season, the rice plants will be transferred to an organic rice farm on the island, where they will continue to grow and be harvested in the future. The flowers will be returned to the schools and temples, beautifying the spaces for the students to enjoy, and fostering a deeper connection to their community and environment.Gastronomic Delights
The culinary experience through December and January, curated by Executive Chef Ruslan Shipunov, provides the much-needed festive cheer. Fresh seafood, sustainable produce, and prime cuts of meat are the theme this year as the restaurants come alive with delectable dining experiences. The festivities begin in true island style with Fisherman's Christmas Eve at Main Beach - a Christmas beach BBQ featuring freshly caught seafood, Christmas roasts, and grilled meats, complemented by live music, fire spinners, fireworks, and Thai-inspired cocktails.
Tam Rab Thai at Koh Thai Kitchen showcases the diverse flavours of Thailand through a tantalizing Thai dinner buffet, where live traditional dance performances and local crafts on display create the perfect setting. The spirits are high at CoCoRum with Sax Sunset every Wednesday, with soothing melodies of live saxophone music as guests watch the sunset over the horizon, and Electric Sundowner every Friday night, setting an upbeat mood.
