UOB Thailand has recently partnered with A Solar Corporation to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to decarbonize by adopting renewable energy from solar rooftop installation. Leveraging on the success of U-Solar program where the Bank brings together the entire value chain of solar ecosystem partners to make solar energy accessible for businesses and individuals. This year, A Solar Corporation joins the network of EPC contractors with UOB to provide SMEs clients with installation, commissioning, operations, and after-sales service packages for solar power systems.
Mrs Sayumrat Maranate, Country Function Head of Business Banking, UOB Thailand, said "We recognise the growing numbers of SMEs incorporating environmentally-friendly practices into their business operations. One of the key approaches SMEs are adopting is to increase energy efficiency by investing in renewable energy in order to lower business costs. This aligns with the Bank's study which found that 46 per cent of SMEs have used energy efficient equipment and technologies while 43 per cent[1] are planning to implement these practices. Therefore, our partnership with A-Solar reflects the Bank's unwavering commitment as a financial enabler and connector to simplify their transition to sustainable business and promote the adoption of renewable energy in SME sector."
In this regards, UOB Thailand will provide SMEs credit limit with special interest rate without collateral requirement under the agreement with A-Solar Corporation to install and maintain the systems.
