Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) is joining forces to support the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives' ongoing measures to eliminate Blackchin Tilapia from the ecosystem. Currently, the company has already purchased over 600,000 kilograms for fishmeal production targeting 2 million kilograms, supported fishing activities in several provinces, and provided 54,000 predator fish to the Department of Fisheries to reduce the spread of fish.
CPF teamed up with Chachoengsao province in organizing the first "Community Fishing Event" at Bang Krapho Canal in Bang Khla District, aiming to reduce the spread within 3 months. Additionally, CPF has donated 200 used plastic containers to the Land Development Station for use in bio-fermentation production.
Governor Chonlatee Youngtrong has announced a significant presence of Blackchin Tilapia in the province's aquaculture zones, particularly within the Bang Khla and Bang Pakong districts. In response to this invasive species threat, the province has launched its inaugural community fishing event in the Bang Krapho Canal area.
This first-of-its-kind initiative yielded impressive results, with participants successfully removing 80 kilograms of Blackchin Tilapia from the ecosystem. The caught fish will be donated to the central prison to provide nutritious meals for inmates.
Chonlatee Youngtrong, Governor of Chachoengsao Province, reported a significant presence of Blackchin Tilapia in the province's aquaculture areas, particularly in Bang Khla and Bang Pakong districts. In response, the province initiated its first community fishing event, targeting the invasive species in the Bang Krapho Canal area. This inaugural effort successfully removed 80 kilograms of fish from the ecosystem, which will be donated to the central prison for inmate meals. The Governor emphasized that Chachoengsao and the Provincial Fisheries Department are committed to intensifying weekly fish capture efforts, aiming to eliminate the invasive species within 3 months, aligning with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives' directive.
Mr. Adit Krisanawong, CPF's Head of Public and Private Relations, announced that CPF has intensified its support for the Department of Fisheries' efforts to eliminate Blackchin Tilapia across several provinces. In Chachoengsao, CPF backed the "Community Fishing Event" by supplying fishing nets, equipment, food, and drinks for participants.
Furthermore, the company has repurposed 200 used 1000-liter plastic tanks from its animal feed plants, donating them to Land Development Stations for bio-fermentation production. The resulting bio-fermentation products will be distributed to the Rubber Authority. 40 plastic tanks were delivered to the Land Development Stations in Chachoengsao and Samut Prakarn province. It will gradually distribute the remaining used plastic tanks to Land Development Stations in Bangkok, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Phetchaburi, the Rubber Authority Office in Kanchanaburi province, and other locations.
CPF actively partners with Department of Fisheries to eliminate Blackchin Tilapia by implementing 5 projects, including1.purchasing 2,000,000 kilograms of Blackchin Tilapia fishmeal production, which has been purchased more than 600,000 kilograms. 2. supporting 200,000 predatory fish for the provincial fisheries to release into water sources, of which 54,000 have been delivered. 3. Continue supporting the Department of Fisheries to remove fish from the ecosystem. 4. collaborating with universities to develop food products, and 5. supporting experts and universities to research and develop long-term fish control technologies.
