On August 22nd, 2024, the University of Phayao, through its University of Phayao Social Responsibility (UPSR) program, in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs and the Division of Student Quality Development and Students with Disabilities, provided essential items to assist flood victims in Phayao Municipality and Dok Khamtai District. The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Wuthichai Chairinkam, the Vice President for Student Quality, and supported by personnel and the UP Volunteer Club. They organized the distribution of 250 food boxes to those who were unable to leave their homes due to the flooding. The UPSR also collected donations from students, staff, and the general public to be distributed to flood victims in Phayao Province. Furthermore, they mobilized a team of over 200 volunteer students to aid in the cleanup and restoration of the affected areas once the water had receded.
