Bolt Upgrades User Verification Feature to Build Trust Between Riders and Drivers, Enhancing Platform and Overall Travel Safety
Bolt continues to advance its safety measures by launching a new user verification feature, allowing users in Thailand to verify their identities independently. This is part of Bolt's ongoing investment in safety features on the platform to build trust between riders and drivers in Thailand, ensuring that drivers can accept orders confidently and providing a faster and more efficient travel experience.
The new feature enables users to verify their identity through a selfie, which must be a clear image of the individual in a real setting, along with uploading an ID document for verification. Bolt will compare the photo with the ID document, and this process takes just a few seconds. This adds convenience and safety to the travel experience. Users need to update the app to the latest version to utilize this feature fully.
However, the user verification feature is an optional enhancement, dependent on each user's choice to use it. The app will remain smooth, fast, and convenient for all users. The verification feature will be integrated with existing safety features, such as sharing trip details with friends or family, an emergency button, and recording audio during the trip if safety concerns arise. Bolt will automatically contact users and drivers through the app if a vehicle remains stationary for too long to ensure everything is okay. Additionally, there will be notifications if there are areas on the route with frequent safety incident reports sent to Bolt's customer support team.
Nathadon Suksiritarnan, Bolt's Country Manager for Thailand, said, "The user verification feature is one of the most requested by drivers in Thailand. Its launch highlights our commitment to building trust between drivers and riders. Increasing investment in verification features reflects our focus on overall travel safety. We are dedicated to creating trust between users and drivers and emphasizing the platform's safety."
Bolt continues to actively promote safety measures, recently partnering with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to train drivers and raise awareness of safety importance. There are also plans to organize additional activities with other agencies in the future to create a sustainable, safe, and reliable travel platform.
