UP will be hosting the 4th UP Identity Festival in 2024, showcasing a variety of creative and innovative student development activities.

The 2024 Student Development Activity Exchange Meeting, with the theme of 'UP Identity Festival #4: Creative and Innovative Student Development Activities,' will showcase academic work on student development through extracurricular activities. This event will provide a platform for faculties from the university and affiliated higher education institutions to present their efforts in student identity development, arts and culture preservation, and mental health care activities. Additionally, there will be a forum for exchanging knowledge and experiences on developing students into global citizens, featuring qualified speakers and student representatives.

On August 29, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, assigned Associate Professor Dr. Direk Teeraputon, Vice President for University Communications, to preside over the opening ceremony of a meeting focused on organizing activities to develop students in 2024. The theme of the meeting is "UP Identity Festival #4: Creative and Innovative Student Development Activities." Mr. Pichet Tookjit, Director of the Division of Student Affairs, will serve as the reporter. The purpose of the meeting is to share knowledge, innovation, and experiences related to area-based student development for sustainable growth. It will also facilitate the creation of a cooperative network among higher education institutions, providing a platform for institutions in the North and their personnel to exchange knowledge and experiences. The main focus of the meeting will be on developing student identities, exchanging learning experiences, and generating new ideas for student development activities that align with the aspirations, visions, and missions of higher education institutions.

The participating faculties and units have submitted the following projects:

  • Student Identity Development: 22 projects
  • Arts and Culture Maintenance: 9 projects
  • Student Mental Health Care: 9 projects
  • Student Welfare and Service Innovation: 4 projects

This event was attended by three higher education network institutions and awards were presented in all four categories to boost morale and encourage student development agencies. The event was held on August 29-30, 2024 and was organized by the Division of Student Affairs and the Division of Student Quality Development and Students with Disabilities at the University of Phayao.
