Patient-centric sustainable design is a growing trend in contemporary architecture for healthcare facilities, influencing projects in Thailand and around the globe. dwp is designing the new Bumrungrad International Hospital Phuket with a focus on creating spaces that enhance well-being and support Bumrungrad's international standard of quality, service and safety for patients, in an environmentally sustainable setting.
Mr. Robert Troup, Managing Director at dwp | design worldwide partnership, an award-winning international architecture and design firm with decades of experience, stated: "We are thrilled to be entrusted with the design of Bumrungrad International Hospital Phuket. The Bumrungrad Phuket campus will be a unique healthcare destination, with boutique hospital appeal, hospitality-infused care and cutting-edge healthcare technology. The hospital features an 'internal landscaped street' a design strategy that offers ease of circulation and intuitive wayfinding, with each floor enjoying exterior and interior views and natural daylight inside the building. This design, with its close connection to nature, while supporting a clinical environment, provides a tranquil ambience that alleviates stress and anxiety and promotes healing, recovery, and wellbeing. The ground level will be activated with reception lounges, cafes and restaurants, creating a series of lively spaces for interaction and relaxation."
Bumrungrad International Hospital Phuket will be a boutique hospital with an Advanced Diagnostic Centre and VitalLife Scientific Wellness Centre. This is part of Bumrunrgrad's strategy to expand its world-class medical services, bringing personalized care and innovative medical technology to local and international patients in Phuket. This project will create further trust and confidence in Thailand as one of the world's top destinations for healthcare and wellness. Bumrungrad Phuket campus will be located near the legendary Blue Canyon Country Club, only 3 kilometers from Phuket International Airport. Construction of the development will start this year as soon as all necessary permits have been granted.
