Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation together with Mitsubishi Electric Group in Thailand jointly organize "Science Classroom 2024" to reiterate commitment to operate business hand in hand with social responsibility as per corporate commitment of "Changes for the Better". This educational activity is held for grade 5 students from Songwit Suksa School at Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Thailand), Bangchan Industrial Estate, Bangkok.
The Science Classroom 2024 is held for the 9th consecutive year with the host rotating among the members of the Mitsubishi Electric Group in Thailand. This year, Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation collaborates with Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the leader in high quality electric motors and industrial products, and Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the technology leader in industrial automation solutions.
Mr. Somchin Leelaket, President of Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Thailand), and Mr. Suwichart Intharasing, Senior Manager of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand), jointly presided at the welcoming of 55 grade 5 students from Songwit Suksa School. The young students had the opportunity to participate closely in science demonstrations to build their curiosity and knowledge in science. The science classroom comprises both lectures and practices to facilitate learning by doing a fun and creative extra-curricular activity to foster children's interest in science. The science classroom is created to offer knowledge and fun at the same time by designing activities that blend science and technology harmoniously. For example, the demonstration on heat transfer via different materials, stainless steel, silver, and copper, using a flat heat pipe that is optimized to draw away heat while keeping cool. Other demonstrations involve a robotic arm to sort waste, an energy-efficiency monitor for coffee maker, a DIY motor and even a simple yet delicious ice cream making demo. All the fun activities are facilitated by employees of Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Thailand) and Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) and Mitsubishi Electric Group in Thailand.
Mr. Somchin Leelaket, President of Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Thailand) said, "The Mitsubishi Electric Group in Thailand is committed to promoting education in Thailand to foster human resources development and thus we organize the "Science Classroom" activity. The aim is to inspire children to become interested in science or even love it by creating a fun extra-curricular activity to demonstrate science and encourage learning by doing. Science is a key subject that is vital to the development of the country, therefore the Mitsubishi Electric Group in Thailand is delighted to support learning science. Our extra-curricular activity is just as important as textbooks and we wish all the children enjoy the activities at all the stations we have set up, learn something new and be inspired as per our objectives."
Mr. Suwichart Intharasing, Senior Manager of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) said, "Today, the children can learn science with ease and fun by doing with various activities on the subject of Heat Transfer. In addition, there are demonstrations of our smart robots and motors which are examples of automation in a modern industrial factory which children can learn about. All the activities are designed to be fun, but at the same time aim to make learning science and modern technology more digestible. I hope that all the children enjoy themselves, learn something new and take home new inspirations to further develop and use in their everyday lives."
One of the students - Thanakrit "Oscar" Thanachotevanij, said, "Today I had great fun in the Science Classroom, I love all the activities, but I love the DIY motor the most. The garbage sorting with "Prapang" the robot is also cool, because it can sort different types of garbage so that some can be recycled and help reduce global warming."
Petchrawee "Temfun" Buaphan, another student, added, "I wish to thank Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation and Mitsubishi Electric Group in Thailand for giving us the opportunity to learn in this Science Classroom, giving us new knowledge and vision which will be good for us in the future. I'm sure that we can take something we learn in today's activities into practice in our studies and in real lives."
