DE - depa Seek Top Agricultural Drone Pilots - Technicians to Compete in the First National Championship

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE), through the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), is set to host the first edition of 'Thailand Agriculture Drone Competition 2024'. Participants will compete for the royal trophies, bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and the total prize money exceeding 1 million baht. The competition aims to serve as a key platform for enhancing the skills of agricultural drone pilots and maintenance technicians nationwide under the 1 Tambon 1 Digital (Chumchon Drone Jai) Project.

The competition is divided into two rounds:

Round 1: The regional agricultural drone piloting and maintenance competitions will be held across five regions from 26 September to 28 October. This round will select the top 100 drone piloting teams and 50 maintenance technician teams to compete at the national level. The regional champions in drone piloting will receive a prize money of 50,000 baht, while the first runner-up will receive 30,000 baht, and the second runner-up will receive 10,000 baht. The regional champions in drone maintenance will receive prize money of 30,000 baht, with the first and second runners-up receiving 20,000 and 10,000 baht, respectively.

Round 2: The national championship for agricultural drone piloting and maintenance, the first of its kind in Thailand, will be taking place on Monday 4 November 2024. The national champion team in agricultural drone piloting will be awarded a royal trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, a gold medal and prize money of 100,000 baht. The first and second runners-up will receive silver and bronze medals, along with prize money of 50,000 and 20,000 baht, respectively. The national champion team in drone maintenance will also receive a royal trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, a gold medal and prize money of 50,000 baht. The first and second runners-up will receive silver and bronze medals, along with prize money of 30,000 and 10,000 baht, respectively.
