Since 2000, Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. has been a major player in Thailand's corn and vegetable seed production industry, with production centers in Phitsanulok, Khon Kaen, and Sakon Nakhon. The company is expanding its presence with the establishment of a new Inspection & Quality Control Building, a significant investment of 138 million THB. The Department of Agriculture has recognized Bayer Thai as an Accredited Seed Test Laboratory, certifying it as a qualified facility for issuing phytosanitary certificates. This certification ensures that plant and plant products exported from Thailand are free from pests and diseases, meeting the import requirements of various countries and regions.
The new facility will feature state-of-the-art seed testing capabilities for corn and vegetable seeds, enabling Bayer Thai to provide high-quality, disease-free seeds to farmers for both domestic and international markets. This includes exports to the United States, the Netherlands, Pakistan, China, South Korea, Japan, and other countries in the Asia Pacific region. The company's significant investment underscores its commitment to advancing agriculture in the region and aligns with the broader goals of agricultural development and the Thai government's vision according to Seed Hub policy by driving Thailand to be the World Leader in Tropical Seeds.
