Five Reasons You Don't Want to Miss This Year's World Gourmet Festival

Bangkok's premier fine dining event is an opportunity to indulge, experience something new and give back

Taking place at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel from 24-29 September, the 24th World Gourmet Festival is once again bringing the culinary creme de la creme under one tastefully appointed roof. Whether it's your first time rubbing shoulders with star-studded culinarians or you're a seasoned chef yourself, the week-long celebration of global talent promises an activity galore. Here are the top five reasons why this year's event should be in your diary.

1. More Michelin Stars Than Ever

This year, festival-goers will bask in the light of 30 Michelin stars - a record for the festival. As 22 globally acclaimed, Michelin-starred chefs converge in Bangkok, they will be joined by a team of virtuoso bartenders - many of them winners of Asia's and the World's 50 Best Bars awards - who will be putting on a show of their own at Aqua Bar every night.

2. Diversity of Talent and Flavours

With a wide range of international cuisines and cooking styles on display, the event is a unique opportunity to experience masterfully executed dishes from Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia and beyond without leaving central Bangkok. While the gala dinner is famous for its eclectic approach that brings together many creative teams, guest chef dinners at Anantara Siam's signature restaurants will zoom in on one master.

3. Exclusivity Guaranteed

For many, the festival's main attraction is its focus on presenting dishes and experiences that are exclusive to the event and not available anywhere else. From tasting menus that will not be repeated to rare ingredients that are seasonal and boast impeccable provenance, these culinary creations by top chefs are destined for stardom.

4. First-Ever Cruise Dinner

For the first time, the World Gourmet Festival will feature an event on Loy Pela Voyages, Anantara's signature dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River. Taking the helm in the kitchen is Portuguese maestro Louis Anjos, the Michelin-starred chef of Al Sud restaurant in Palmares, who will be matching his bold creations to the striking views of Bangkok's illuminated riverside attractions, including the famous Wat Arun.

5. Help a Good Cause

As in previous years, a portion of each dinner ticket sold, along with proceeds from the gala auction, will be donated to The Foundation for the Welfare of Rajavithi Girls' Home Under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali, helping to empower and uplift young lives.

With tickets quickly selling, guests are encouraged to book as soon as possible. For more information and bookings, please visit https://www.worldgourmetfestival.asia or email: wgf.asia@anantara.com and call +66 2 126 8866.
