DKSH Business Unit Healthcare, a leading partner for healthcare companies seeking to grow their business in Asia and beyond, has successfully raised both awareness and funds for the Eye Clinic and Surgery project by the Thai Red Cross Society through the "DKSH Patient Purpose Day Run 2024". A total of THB 659,400 was raised through the registration fees from over 1,200 participants, including the general public and DKSH's employees, who came together for this event at Stadium One in Bangkok.

The event is part a series of DKSH initiatives across Asia on the occasion of "Patient Purpose Day" which take place throughout September. This year, the focus is on elder care, acknowledging the urgent requirement to support the region's aging populations through collaborative community efforts.

With the region's rapidly aging population, by 2050, one in four individuals in the region is projected to be aged 60 or older. DKSH is dedicated to improving the well-being of elderly communities across Asia, focusing on key areas like cardiovascular health, diabetes, ophthalmology, and respiratory care. This commitment reflects DKSH's broader mission to provide better healthcare for all, emphasizing a patient-centric approach and the importance of elder care.

Thai Red Cross Society's Eye Clinic and Surgery project of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, provides essential eye care to elderly individuals and patients in remote areas of Thailand. By organizing the "DKSH Patient Purpose Day Run 2024", DKSH has helped raise funds to support patients in rural areas suffering from eye diseases such as retinopathy, cataracts, and glaucoma.

Janprapa Vichitcholchai, Deputy Director of Fund Raising Bureau, Thai Red Cros Society, said: "It is truly heartwarming to see so many people coming together in support of the elderly patients in Thailand. The generous donation will be put to great use by the Thai Red Cross Society in improving the lives of patients nationwide. We want to express our sincere gratitude for DKSH and everyone who has contributed to this event."
