Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL and its business units) strengthens its leadership in digital banking by unveiling a strategic plan to advance IT and digital innovation with a focus on AI technology. The Krungsri AI team is at the forefront of driving innovative digital solutions that elevate financial experiences while simplifying the personal and business lives of our customers. This announcement was made at Krungsri Tech Day 2024: Technology for People, held at True Digital Park West.
Mr. Kenichi Yamato, Krungsri President and Chief Executive Officer, delivered the opening remarks, emphasising Krungsri's strategic focus on leveraging technology for sustainable growth: "Krungsri is committed to becoming the Leading Sustainable and Regional Bank, as outlined at the heart of our current Medium-Term Business Plan (MTBP). To achieve this, we are dedicated to reinforcing our leadership in core business areas and fostering sustainable growth through comprehensive advancements in information technology and digital development. This strategy emphasizes four key elements: Digital, Data, Ecosystems, and Partnerships. Krungsri Tech Day 2024 serves as a platform to demonstrate our leadership in financial technology, reaffirming our dedication to delivering innovative solutions that meet evolving customer needs and simplify lives and businesses. Additionally, we hope this event will inspire the adoption of technology as a means to promoting growth and sustainability."
Mr. Sayam Prasitsirigul, Krungsri Chief Information and Digital Officer said, "As one of the leading digital banks in Thailand, Krungsri continues to drive business with innovation and digital technology through a team of specialized experts and close partnerships. The development in IT and digital solutions at Krungsri Group follows a holistic approach under the concept of "Technology for People". This approach focuses on creating financial technologies and solutions that integrate seamlessly into all aspects of people's lifestyles, regardless of their financial behaviors or needs. While the solutions may not always utilize the most cutting-edge technology, they must effectively meet people's needs by providing more convenient, fast, and accessible financial experiences. This year, Krungsri has invested over 15,000 million baht in developing IT and digital solutions. We have also significantly enhanced our capabilities with the Krungsri AI team, which will drive advancements in AI, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics, as well as focus on personnel development. This supports the overall growth of Krungsri's business and promotes comprehensive technological progress across the ecosystem."
"Given the growing importance of AI technology across various industries, including the financial sector, Krungsri has consistently researched, explored, and tested its applications. This year, we have strengthened our commitment to AI development by bolstering the Krungsri AI team and enhancing its capabilities. This initiative will drive more rigorous research and application of AI technology, which will play a crucial role in improving operational efficiency and elevating customer experiences. Examples of use cases include using AI to assess condominium values, optimizing cash replenishment for ATMs, and deploying chatbots for employees to search and summarize internal knowledge. This chatbot can also provide in-depth information by linking and analyzing data from the Bank to deliver clear and accurate answers. Furthermore, the results of last year's core banking upgrade have enabled Krungsri to expand its capabilities to support the demand for embedded finance solutions. This involves integrating Krungsri's financial solutions into the backend systems of various businesses, often without customers or users being aware that they are using Krungsri's solutions. Krungsri has already provided embedded finance solutions to several organizations across various industries, including e-commerce platforms, security systems, and food processing sectors," Mr. Sayam added.
