Bangkok, Thailand, October 2, 2024 - J&T Express Thailand, a leading global logistics provider, represented by Dr. Suteemon Aggarwal, Director, attended a press conference on the Dee-Delivery initiative organized by the Office of the Consumer Protection Board at Government House, Bangkok. The initiative aims to enhance freight services to protect consumers facing issues with cash on delivery (COD) purchases, such as receiving incorrect, damaged, or unordered products, and will take effect on October 3, 2024.
The press conference was led by Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuprai, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, who addressed the consumer protection policy for cash-on-delivery (Dee-Delivery) products. Attendees included Adjunct Professor Wisit Wisitsora-At, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Pol. Maj. Gen. Witthaya Sriprasertphap, Commander of the Consumer Protection Police Division, and representatives from seven online delivery service providers and platforms. The event featured a demonstration of parcel handling by major delivery service providers in Thailand, aimed at strengthening consumer confidence by ensuring fairness and compensation in cases of issues arising from online product orders.
J&T Express Thailand has implemented comprehensive measures to fully comply with the new policy. Recipients of cash-on-delivery (COD) parcels wishing to inspect their items must first verify their identity with the sprinter and consent to video recording during the inspection. If the parcel information does not match the recipient's ID, inspection of the goods will not be permitted. In cases where the recipient refuses to pay due to incorrect, damaged, or unordered items, the delivery staff will promptly return the package. If any issues are identified after delivery, recipients may contact the Call Center at 1470 or use the platform's application to initiate a return within five days of receipt.
J&T Express Thailand is committed to continually enhancing its delivery services to meet the evolving needs of its customers. Participation in the Dee-Delivery initiative marks a crucial step in protecting consumers in the digital age, fostering customer confidence, promoting e-commerce growth, and ensuring a secure, transparent, and fair trading environment for all parties involved.
