GreenYellow, a leading investor and operator in solar projects and energy efficiency, has signed a Cooling Service Agreement (CSA) with Schneider Electric Thailand, a global industrial technology leader that provides energy management and automation solutions for homes, buildings, and industries, specializing in products and services that improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability. The agreement is expected to considerably increase energy efficiency at Schneider's factory, decreasing energy usage and carbon consumption through advanced cooling technology.
As part of the agreement, GreenYellow will install a high-efficiency cooling system that includes 3 250 RT magnetic bearing chillers. The technology is frictionless, making it one of the most energy-efficient alternatives on the market, with an oil-free design.
The system will include advanced water pumps and cooling towers equipped with variable speed drives (VSD), which adjust pump operation to use only the necessary amount of electricity, minimizing energy consumption. A centralized energy management system (EMS and CPMS) will oversee all operations to ensure maximum efficiency, while EC fans in the Air Handling Units (AHUs) will automatically adjust airflow in real time, further reducing energy usage.
The new cooling system aims to save approximately 3.5 gigawatts hours (GWh) of electricity per year while also preventing 1,575 tons of CO2 emissions. GreenYellow will also monitor the system to encourage ongoing energy savings and environmental advantages.
Stephane Dufrenne, Chief Commercial & Partnerships Officer (CCO) of GreenYellow Thailand commented, "Our collaboration with Schneider Electric is growing stronger. We are thrilled to be working together on a new energy efficiency project, building on our successful history in solar. We hope to achieve significant energy savings and assist Schneider in meeting its sustainability objectives by leveraging our advanced energy management technologies. This collaboration demonstrates our shared commitment to lowering carbon emissions and assisting Thailand's transition to a greener future."
Mongkhon Tangsiriwit, Cluster President of Schneider Electric added: "Our collaboration with GreenYellow complements Schneider's long-term strategy for energy efficiency and sustainability. With these novel cooling systems, we are significantly reducing our environmental footprint while increasing operational efficiency."
GreenYellow is dedicated to offering comprehensive energy solutions that encompass all stages, including financing and design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance. GreenYellow's offers include Energy Efficiency Agreements and Solar Power Purchase Agreements (Solar PPA), which come with complementary operation and maintenance services. This provides peak performance and consistent energy savings. GreenYellow's ambition is closely connected with Thailand's national targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
