Panasonic Initiates Waste-Sorting Awareness Campaign in Pathum Thani

Encouraging Youth to Reduce Environmental Impact Through Proper Waste Management

Panasonic Group Thailand recently organized "Together with Panasonic: Separate Waste for a Cleaner Community" initiative in Pathum Thani, as part of the second year of "Panasonic Cares" project. The activity featured the donation of "Waste Separate bins" Panasonic LED energy-saving light bulbs to Watkhunyingsomjean school and Wan Kru 2502 School in Pathum Thani. The goal is to instill environmental consciousness in young students by teaching them proper waste sorting methods, helping to reduce waste accumulation and enhance the long-term sustainability of their communities.

Mr. Takahiro Kumode, Deputy Managing Director of Panasonic Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, "The Panasonic Group in Thailand has entered its second year of the "Panasonic Cares" project, dedicated to giving back to Thai society. This initiative reinforces our commitment to the philosophy of "For the Wellbeing of People, Society, and the Planet.' prioritizing sustainable health, safety, and comfort for individuals, society, and all life on Earth. The project's framework aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across key areas: Good Health & Well-being, Quality Education, Life on Land, No Poverty and Responsible Consumption and Production which is in line with Panasonic's Green Impact, the global environmental vision of the Panasonic Group. This initiative strives to reduce carbon dioxide emissions across our value chain and deliver recycling-oriented manufacturing products to customers to minimize the issue of non-biodegradable waste by 2030.

For the second year of the "Panasonic Cares" initiative, Panasonic has organized various activities, including Hero Run, A running event to unite efforts in environmental conservation while raising funds for the procurement of medical equipment for the Faculty of Medicine at Vajira Hospital. Additionally, the distance run is converted into trees, with one tree planted for every 10 kilometers completed, contributing to the creation of green spaces across the country. The project "Light up The Future" was continued by delivering solar- lanterns to remote communities and schools in Chiang Rai province. This initiative aims to provide children with adequate lighting for reading and to ensure a safer nighttime environment for their daily lives. And "Together with Panasonic: Separate Waste for a Cleaner Community" is initiated to promote sustainable pollution reduction. We have piloted this activity by distributing waste separation bins to schools in Khon Kaen Province and School in Samut Prakan provinces.

Panasonic Group Thailand recently organized "Together with Panasonic: Separate Waste for a Cleaner Community" for donated eight waste separate bins to Watkhunyingsomjean school. Panasonic staff also conducted an educational session on proper waste sorting methods for students, aiming to instill environmental responsibility for long-term community sustainability. Additionally, the company donated 100 Panasonic LED Energy-Saving light bulbs to replace old and broken bulbs, enhancing safety for teachers and students. and donated another eight waste separation bins to Wan Kru 2502 School as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental awareness and community support.
