We saw an opportunity to introduce something new that resonates deeply with both the heart of Bangkok and global culinary trends. That's how La Marina came to life. "At La Marina we are not just offering a meal, we are inviting guests to experience La Dolce Vita in a city that moves at an incredibly fast pace. We want to create a space where people can slow down, savor and celebrate life through their palate. The name 'La Marina' was born from a desire to embody the life by the coast in Southern Italy's charming fishermen villages. We wanted to create more than just a dining space - we wanted to build an experience that transports guests to the colorful coasts of Southern Italy" said Mrs. Angelica Aliberti, Executive Assistant Manager Sales & Marketing.
At the Center of La Marina is Chef Daniele Ferrari, whose passion and love for Southern Italy breathes life into every dish.
The family vacations to Southern Italy during his childhood left an indelible mark on his palate and ignited his passion for the vibrant and flavorful dishes of the South. Those summer escapes to the coasts of Campania, such as the Amalfi Coast or the Sorrento Peninsula, Puglia, Calabria, Sicily & Sardinia introduced him to the pastel-colored coastal landscapes, immersive smells of fresh seafood caught by fishermen and the rich traditions that define Southern Italian Cuisine.
These memories of Southern Italy not only shaped Chef Daniele's culinary perspective but also instilled a lifelong devotion to recreating the essence of those coastal regions.
As a child he would sneak into the kitchens of the restaurants his family visited, captivated by the simplicity and authenticity of the recipes being prepared. Those moments inspired a deep connection to the sun-ripened ingredients fresh seafood and timeless traditions that now form the heart of his cuisine.
Later, his professional path took him to Sardinia, where he worked in some of the region's most esteemed kitchens. Immersed in Sardinia's unique culinary heritage, Chef Daniele fell even more in love with Southern Italian flavors and the island's focus on fresh, local ingredients.
With a distinguished career spanning some of the world's most prestigious kitchens, Chef Daniele has built a reputation for culinary excellence. Most recently, he served as Chef de Cuisine at Bulgari Hotel Beijing, following his role as Sous-chef at Il Ristorante - Niko Romito at the same property. His experience also includes serving as Sous Chef at L'Albereta Relais & Chateaux, as well as holding positions at esteemed establishments like Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in London and Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester. Additionally, he has worked in notable restaurants such as Apsley Restaurant, UNICO Restaurant in Milan, and several fine dining venues across Italy and Switzerland.
Now at Embassy Room La Marina, Chef Daniele channels his passion for Southern Italian cuisine, crafting dishes inspired by the vibrant flavors and traditions he cherishes most.
"At Embassy Room La Marina, I want to take our guests on the same journey I experienced as a child and as a chef. I learned that quality doesn't need to be complicated. When you start with the best ingredients, you let them speak for themselves. My goal at La Marina is to bring that same homey feeling to every plate, to make people smile through simple, authentic dishes. This restaurant is my tribute to the regions that have inspired me throughout my life."
La Marina showcases a relaxed dining experience that invites guests to indulge in time-honored recipes from Southern Italy. The restaurant offers a contemporary twist on classic dishes, including fresh seafood, house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and an array of seasonal antipasti, all inspired by the region's rich heritage and abundant coastal bounty.
The design of La Marina draws inspiration from the Mediterranean landscape, with airy spaces, earthy tones, and an open kitchen concept, designed for comfort to allow guests to unwind and enjoy their meal in a cozy, laid-back setting that evokes the charm of coastal Italian living. The space is a celebration of warmth, style, and hospitality, providing the perfect environment for both intimate dinners and social gatherings.
