
Thailand's tourism industry is a key driver of the economy, generating significant income. According to the SCB EIC, foreign tourist arrivals to Thailand have been steadily increasing, with projections estimating 38.8 million visitors in 2025, with strong growth from ASEAN, Europe, and South Asia. South Korea remains among the top five source markets for international visitors, so to enhance convenience for South Korean tourists Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has partnered with overseas mobile payment provider GLN International to introduce a cardless baht withdrawal service. Tourists can now withdraw cash by scanning a QR code via the GLN app at over 9,000 SCB ATMs/CDMs nationwide. This service will be available starting March 17, 2025. The official launch was led by Mr. Sakkawat Itthisawad, Executive Vice President, Branch Distribution Network Function, and Mr. Thana Harn-Arsa, SVP, Cross Border Payment Products Division at SCB, alongside Mr. Lee Suk, CEO of GLN International.
SCB aims to enhance the travel experience for South Korean visitors by offering a fast, secure, and convenient cash withdrawal option, meeting growing demand during peak tourist seasons.
