Bangchak and OKEA Join the Celebration of 120 Years of Thai-Norwegian Diplomatic Relations Supporting a Charity Walk & Run for the Siriraj Foundation

On 19 March 2025, Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang, Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, together with Mr. Komut Maneechai, Managing Director, BCPR Pte. Ltd., participated in a press conference for a Charity Walk & Run to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Thai-Norwegian diplomatic relations and to raise funds for the Siriraj Foundation. The event was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo and the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital.

Bangchak and BCPR participated as supporting organizations for the event. The press conference was chaired by Professor Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with H.E. Ms. Nitivadee Manitkul, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Norway, members of the diplomatic corps in Norway, and executives from the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital. Also in attendance were executives from Siam Cement Public Company Limited, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The event was held at Siriraj Hospital.

The Charity Walk & Run celebrates the 120th anniversary of continuous Thai-Norwegian diplomatic relations, encompassing diplomacy, economy, education, trade, investment, and public health. This relationship dates back to the state visit of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn to Norway in 1905, whose visionary reforms sought to align Thailand with civilized nations. Notably, these efforts led to the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1888, dedicated to alleviating suffering and providing medical care.

The Charity Walk & Run will take place on Sunday, 22 June 2025, from 15:00 to 17:00 hrs. local time, in the scenic areas of Oslo, renowned for its fresh air and bright sunlight. Participants can choose between 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer distances, starting at the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo and finishing at the Oslo Opera House. The event is expected to attract over 200 participants, including Thais, Norwegians, and expatriates living in Norway.

The entry fee is THB 5,000 or NOK 1,500, with all proceeds donated to the Fund for the 120th Anniversary of Thai-Norwegian Diplomatic Relations to support the treatment of underprivileged patients at the Siriraj Foundation, with no deductions.
