Naruemit Pride, in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and partners from civil society and the private sector, will transform Rama I Road into a vibrant rainbow avenue celebrating equality with the "Bangkok Pride Festival 2025" under the theme Born This Way. The event will feature the longest identity flag in Thailand-and the world-stretching over 200 meters, along with the iconic rainbow flag waving boldly in central Bangkok. This signifies a united stand for LGBTQIAN+ rights and extends a heartfelt invitation to LGBTQIAN+ individuals around the globe to visit Thailand-a new global Pride destination. The ultimate goal is to position Bangkok as a global center of gender diversity and empower young Thai LGBTQIAN+ representatives to campaign for Thailand to host Bangkok World Pride 2030.
Ann Chumaporn Waaddao, President and Founder of Naruemit Pride Co., Ltd., organizer of both Bangkok Pride and Marriage Equality Day, stated that Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 remains a platform to showcase strength, diversity, boundless love, and inclusivity for the LGBTQIAN+ community in Thailand. The festival seeks to foster understanding and societal acceptance. This year, the event follows the theme Born This Way: The Ongoing Journey from Marriage Equality to Identity Recognition.
"We expect over 300,000 people, both Thai and international, to join the parade this year-an increase from 100,000 in 2023 and over 250,000 in 2024. We aim for Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 to become a national celebration, a Pride destination, one of the top 10 Pride parades globally, and the most anticipated in Asia. This festival is not just for LGBTQIAN+ individuals, but for everyone. It is a global declaration that Bangkok and Thailand are ready to be a world-class Pride destination and host the Bangkok World Pride 2030."
The vision for Bangkok Pride also includes becoming a "Tech Platform" for the global LGBTQIAN+ community-a one-stop service hub. After the 2025 event, the first phase of development will begin to establish Bangkok as a hub for gender diversity, inclusive tourism, and LGBTQIAN+ wellness destinations.
"With Born This Way: The Ongoing Journey from Marriage Equality to Identity Recognition as our core message, we aim to reshape the tone of advocacy-gentle to individuals, but firm in our principles-against discrimination and violence. Through symbolic acts of hope and resilience, we push for equality to be embraced in Thai society. We also plan to join the Rainbow Cities Network to help develop Bangkok into a city welcoming to all genders."

DRAG BANGKOK Festival 2025 (May 30-31 and June 1): Featuring the theme Thaituristic Drag Scene, it will bring Thai drag artistry to the global stage, reinforcing drag as a respected professional artform.
Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, stated: "This is our 4th year hosting Bangkok Pride, and it is the most crucial. This year marks not just celebration, but readiness-a coming together of people, media, art, creativity, and policy driving Bangkok's bid to host World Pride 2030. Every activity, panel, voice, and color will show the world that Bangkok is open and equipped-with infrastructure, heart, and inclusive policies-to be a truly welcoming city. In a rapidly changing world, cities that center people and embrace diversity in gender, belief, and identity are cities of hope. Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 is not just a celebration, but our collective statement to the world: We are ready."
A Historic Moment for Thailand and Southeast Asia
This year marks a historic milestone, as Thailand became the first country in Southeast Asia to legalize marriage equality, effective January 23, 2025. This is not only a victory for love and human rights but a significant economic driver, expected to attract 4 million tourists annually and generate over USD 2 billion in revenue. Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 is therefore a vital platform-celebrating diversity and equality while boosting Thailand's economy and tourism with a warm and inclusive culture.
More than just a gathering of LGBTQIAN+ communities, Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 is a powerful affirmation of gender equality and the celebration of love and humanity. Naruemit Pride welcomes everyone to be part of this inspiring movement and help shape a more inclusive world.
