Richard Moat is CEO of CP Orange, where he draws upon his considerable international telecoms experiecnce to ensure the company remains focused on its strategic mission while building up Thailand's newest wirefree communications service.
Richard was formerly International Group Director of Finance for Orange plc. His responsibilities there included financial management of Orange's international interests, strategic marketing and an increasing involvement in business development.
Joining the Orange group in early 1992 as European Audit Manager, Richard was head of the department responsible for auditing its telecommunications interests throughout Europe.
At the beginning of 1994, he moved into line management as Group Finance Manager, with responsibility for all finance staff across the group, including commercial support, business planning and transactional processing, During this period, Richard was responsible for refinancing the group, implementing its initial 1.2 billion senior debt facility, and playing a leading role in the successful foltation of Orange plc.
Following corporate restructuring in mid-1997, Richard became Director of Corporate Finance, heading up group accounting and reporting, treasury, tax, internal audit and group procurement. In this role, he led the refinancing of the senior debt facility, which was increased to 1.75 billion on more favourable and innovative terms, and also spearheaded a 500 million hight yield debt issue, which was voted European high yield debt deal of the year by IFR.
While at Orange, Richard took a leading role in the company's overseas activities, in particular heading up the team that won the Swiss 2G bidding process.
Before joining Orange, Richard for the USX / Marathon group in senior treasury, audit and business strategy roles in both the United Kongdom and the United States.
Richard has a master of arts degree in Law from St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants.
