Bangkok--23 Mar--Make-A-Wish Foundation Phoenix, AZ - Make-A-Wish Foundation International is proud to announce and welcome new affiliates Thailand and Malaysia to the Make-A-Wish family. Make-A-Wish Thailand and Make-A-Wish Malaysia are added to the growing base of Make-A-Wish Foundation International affiliates worldwide, now thirty-six strong. Dr. Keith Goh, Board Chair of Make-A-Wish Foundation International acknowledges the importance of expanding the Foundation's global reach, "The impact of a wish coming true is so powerful, not only to the child and family, but also to those whose hearts are touched by its rippling effect, like a wave moving outwards. We want to continue making waves throughout the world by expanding the Make-A-Wish mission to the countries where we are yet to be established, so that we can deliver joy, strength and hope to many unfortunate children." Make-A-Wish Thailand becomes the 36th affiliate, and most recent, to join the Make-A-Wish family. William Kuipers, Director of Make-A-Wish Thailand, said that after "almost 4 years to build the infrastructure and complete all the requirements to make a healthy start," the establishment of Make-A-Wish Thailand is "the crown[ing] achievement" for the new organization. Make-A-Wish Thailand will officially kick-off its wish granting on April 29th, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the first wish, granted to a young boy named Chris Greicius in Phoenix, Arizona. Founder of Make-A-Wish Malaysia, Sandra Kirwan, expresses her excitement for the new affiliate, "It is a great privilege for Malaysia to become the 35th affiliate [of] Make-A-Wish Foundation International. Becoming a member of the Make-A-Wish family provides us with access to all the knowledge, experience and resources of this prestigious global organization. Such tremendous support will enable Make-A-Wish Malaysia to enrich the lives of many children with life-threatening medical conditions through wish granting. We are delighted and honored to be part of such a well renowned global wish granting foundation."
