Phitek Systems Limited, a global leader in electro-acoustic and noise-cancelling technologies, announced today that it has been selected as the sole supplier of active noise-cancelling headphones for the entire THAI fleet. Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), Thailand’s national carrier, which will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in May, is renowned for its gracious service, superb in-flight entertainment and world-class lounges. The selection of Phitek’s noise-cancelling headphones is further evidence of THAI’s commitment to superior comfort, style, design and world-class technology.
Phitek’s active noise-cancelling headphones utilise its world-leading patented Active Noise Rejection (ANR) technology, which eliminates 95 per cent of all disturbing and ambient background noise experienced on flights.
Songsak Namwong, Director of THAI’s Product Development Department, says after a global tender and several reviews, THAI’s selection of Phitek’s headphones was simply down to exceptional quality, style and comfort, but most importantly, leading technology.

On THAI’s newest jetliners, every premium Royal First Class, and Royal Silk Class (Business Class), seat, will soon be equipped with the state-of-the-art interactive Audio-Visual-On-Demand entertainment system and ANR headphones. THAI will also retrofit many of its existing jetliners.
Phitek’s world-leading ANR technology works by measuring the actual noise within the ear canal and subsequently calculating an “anti-noise” response, which is then sent to the headphone speaker. The noise and anti-noise signals combine to produce near silence.
Phitek’s patented active noise cancellation technology, in both headphone and connector formats, is also used by leading airlines, including; Singapore Airlines, Emirates and Air New Zealand.
