Weather Forecast The high pressure from China still extends its ridge to cover upper Thailand. Cooler weather with morning fog and dense fog is likely over Thailand and isolated frost on mountaintops in the North and the Northeast. The rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over southern Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Widely to scattered thundershowers and moderate wind-wave in lower Gulf of Thailand. During 7-8 Jan, an intense high pressure from China will extend its ridge to cover upper Thailand, causing drop in temperature and windy with isolated rainfall in western and upper portion of the northern Thailand.

Warning Throughout this period, people in the northern and northeastern Thailand take care your health from cold weather. All ships in the Gulf of Thailand should proceed with caution and small boats in the lower Gulf keep ashore throughout the periods.

Northern Part Cool to cold, minimum temperature 12-19oC with morning fog and isolated dense fog. Very cold on mountaintops with isolated frost, minimum temperature 4-9?C. During 7-8 Jan, decreasing in temperature and isolated rainfall mostly in the west and upper portion. Northeasterly winds 10-25 km./hr.

Northeastern Part Cool to cold, minimum temperature 12-19oC and morning fog. Cold to very cold on mountaintops, minimum temperature 6-14 C. Throughout the periods. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km./hr.

Central Part Cool to cold and morning fog and isolated dense fog, minimum temperature 16-19oC. Cold on mountain rages, minimum temperature 13-15 C. Throughout the periods. Northeasterly winds 10-30 km./hr.

Eastern Part Cool to cold with morning fog and isolated dense fog, minimum temperature 17-21oC. Cold on mountain rages, minimum temperature 14-15 C. Throughout the periods. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km./hr. Wave height about 1 meters and 1-2 meters offshore.

Southern Part (East Coast) Cool, minimum temperature 18-23oC. Widely to scattered thundershowers throughout the period and isolated heavy rain from Nakhon Si Thammarat downward.

Upper Gulf from: Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave; height 1-2 meters.

Lower Gulf from: Northeasterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters throughout the periods.

Southern Part (West Coast) Cool, minimum temperature 20-23oC.

Widely scattered to scattered thundershowers throughout the period and isolated heavy rain in the lower part. Easterly wind 15-35 km./hr. Wave height 1-2 meters

Metropolitan Cool with morning fog and isolated dense fog, minimum temperature 20-23 oC. Throughout the periods. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km./hr.
