The low pressure cell over the Gulf of Mataban, Myanmar has covered northern Thailand. The southwest monsoon remains strong over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Abundant rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rain occurs over much of the windward side of the North, Central, East and western South of the country. People in the disaster areas should beware of flash flood. The areas include provinces of Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Tak, Phichit, Phetchabun, Ranong and Phang-nga.
The wind-wave becomes stronger with 2-3 meters high mainly in the Andaman Sea and 2 meters high in the upper Gulf of Thailand. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore during 10-11 May.
Travelers are advised to check the weather forecast before their departure for the Philippines due to Tropical storm “Aere”.
