General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time At 04.00 a.m. today (11 May 2011). The low pressure cell over upper northern Thailand is moving to Laos. The southwest monsoon remains strong over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Abundant rain and isolated heavy rain occurs over much of the windward side of the North, Central, East and western South of the country. People in the disaster areas should beware of flash flood. The areas include provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Tak, Phichit, Phetchabun, Ranong and Phang-nga.

The strong wind-wave with 2-3 meters high is expected mainly in the Andaman Sea and 2 meters high in the upper Gulf of Thailand. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore during 11-12 May.

Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 29-34 C.

Northeastern Part Scattered thundershowers

mostly in Loei, Nong Khai, Chaiyaphum, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Buri Ram and Nakhon Ratchasima.

Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 34-36 C.

Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr.

Central Part Scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy rain and windy

mostly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.

Eastern Part Scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy to very heavy rain and windy

in Chanthaburi and Trat.
