General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time At 04.00 LST today, tropical storm “NOCK TEN” over the South China Sea was centered about 280 kilometers east of Hainan Island, China or latitude 18.1 degree North, longitude 112.6 degree East with sustained wind about 50 knot or 90 km/hr. The storm is moving west-northwest at a speed about 10 knot or 18 km/hr. It is expected to move across Hainan Island, the Gulf of Tonkin and make landfall over upper Vietnam during 30-31 July. The active southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Torrential rain and heavy to very heavy fall are expected much of the windward side of the North, Northeast, western portion of Central, East and South west coast. People in the risky areas along foothills and waterways should beware of flash flood during 30 July-2 August.

Strong wind-wave is likely in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand with 2-4 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore during 30 July to 2 August.
