"Tropical Storm “Nalgae”"

No. 6 Time Issued : October 05, 2011

At 2100 UTC, tropical storm “NALGAE” was downgrade to tropical depression over the bay of Tokin at latitude 18.5 ?N, longitude 108.0 ?E or 200 km east of Vihn city with maximum sustained wind 55 km/hr. It was moving west with speed 10 km/hr. It is expected to make landfall over upper Vietnam today (5 October) and become the low cell.

The monsoon trough lies across the Central, the lower Northeast and the East of Thailand. The active southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Torrential rain is likely over the whole country with isolated heavy rain in the lower North, the lower Northeast, the Central, the East and the South west-coast. People should beware of severe heavy rain during 1-2 days. The strong wind-waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are expected 2-3 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore.
