Weather Forecast During 28 Dec 2 Jan, the high pressure area remains over upper Thailand. This cause cool to cold weather and morning fog likely in the areas while cold to very cold with isolated frost on mountaintops of the North and the Northeast. During 29-31 Dec, the active northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf, southern Thailand and a low cell in the lower South China Sea move across Malaysia. More rain and isolated heavy rain is expected in the lower South of Thailand with 2-4 meters high in the lower Gulf of Thailand. After that on 3 Jan, 2011, another active high pressure from China will extend to upper Thailand. Drop in temperature and windy will affect in the Northeast of Thailand at the beginning and the other part later.
Tropical Cyclone “Thane” (06B) will move across southern India during 29-30 December. Passengers are advised to follow closely the weather forecast before their departure.
Warning During the period, all vehicles should beware of low visibility due to dense fog. During 29 Dec- 1 Jan, people in lower southern Thailand should beware heavy rain and high surf. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore.
