"Heavy Rain and strong wind-wave in Southern Thailand"

No. 2 Time Issued : January 11, 2012

During 12-15 January 2012, the easterly wave will move to lower southern Thailand affecting more rain, and isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely in the south-east coast from Nakhon Sri Thammarat southward. People in the risky area along the foothill near waterways should beware of flash flood. These areas include Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. The strong wind-waves in the Gulf of Thailand are expected 2-4 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats stay ashore during the period.

The high pressure remains over Thailand and the South China Sea. Cool to cold weather is likely with fog in the morning. During 12-14 January 2012, the westerly trough will move to Northern Thailand resulting in rain and drop in temperature.
