"Tropical Cyclone “VICENTE”"

At 04.00 LST (24 Jul, 2012), Typhoon “VICENTE” was centered about 60 kilometers south of Macau, China or at latitude 22.0 degree North, longitude 113.0 degree East, with maximum sustained winds about 150 km./hr. It is moving north-westward with speed 18 km./hr. and expected to make landfall over upper Hainan, China today and move to upper Vietnam on 25 Jul. This will cause abundant rain and isolated heavy to very heavy fall in of Thailand. People in the risky areas should beware of flooding condition. These provinces are warned include;
- during 24-26 Jul, in Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lumphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom,
- during 24-27 Jul, in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Lamphun, Lampang, Phare, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun,
- during 25-27 Jul, Chathaburi, Trat, Ranong and Phang-nga.
During 24-27 Jul, the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand will strength. The stronger wind wave is expected in the Andaman and the Gulf of Thailand with 2-3 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand keep ashore during the period.
