The ridge of high pressure remains over upper Thailand affecting the active monsoon trough across the Central and the East. The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Torrential rain remains with heavy to very heavy rain in somewhere of the Central, the East and the upper South. People should beware of severe condition. The wind waves are expected about 2 meters high in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution during 17-18 September.
Typhoon “SANBA” in the eastern China Sea and southeastern Jeju, South Korea with maximum sustained wind about 155 km/hr, is forecast to move to the Korean peninsula by 17 September.
The advisory is in effect for Thailand from 17 September 2012.
