"Tropical Cyclone “GAEMI”"

At 0400 LST, on 2 October, the tropical storm “GAEMI” in the middle South China Sea was centered about 700 km east of Da Nang, Vietnam, or at latitude 17.0 ๐N and 114.8 ๐E, with maximum sustained wind about 65 km./hr. The almost stationary storm during 2-3 October 2012 and has no direct effect on Thailand.
During 4-5 October, the storm will make landfall over central Vietnam, and during 6-7 October, it will hit lower neighboring Laos, the Northeast and the Central of Thailand, respectively. Meanwhile the stronger southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand. These cause torrential rain with heavy to very heavy in some places of the lower North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the upper South of the country. People in the risk areas should beware of the severe weather. The stronger wind waves are likely 2-3 meters high in the upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.
During 2-3 October, the monsoon trough over the lower Central, the upper South and the East will weaken, and the moderate southwest monsoon will prevail over the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand and the Gulf. Widely scattered to scattered rain is likely over the areas.
