"Tropical Cyclone “GAEMI”"

At 0100 LST, on 3 October, the tropical storm “GAEMI” in the middle South China Sea was centered about 880 km east of Da Nang, Vietnam, or at latitude 15.3 ?N and 117.0 ?E, with maximum sustained wind about 75 km./hr. The storm is moving east-southeast at about 10 km/hr, and has no direct effect on Thailand in this period.
During 5-6 October, the storm is expected make landfall over central Vietnam, and will affect on Thailand during 4-8 October. Meanwhile the stronger southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand. These cause torrential rain with heavy to very heavy in some places of the lower North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the upper South of the country. People in the risk areas should beware of the severe weather. The stronger wind waves are likely 2-3 meters high in the upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.
