General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time The active high pressure area from China has covered upper Thailand, and the westerly trough will cover to the North today. Cool to cold weather in generally by 4-7 C drops and windy are likely upper Thailand during 24-26 December 2012. The temperature will be below 16 C in many areas while very cold on the high mountain in the North and the upper Northeast, as well as, frost in some areas on the mountaintops in the North are likely. People in upper Thailand should take care healthy from cool weather.

The strong northeast monsoon will prevail over the Gulf of Thailand and the South making more rain in the South and isolated heavy rain. People in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat should beware of heavy rain during 24-25 December, 2012.

The strong wind-waves prevail over the Gulf. People along the South East Coast should beware of high wave inshore. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats in the lower Gulf from Surat Thani downward keep ashore during the period.

Southern Part (West Coast) Fairly widespread thundershowers mostly in Ranong, Phang-nga, Trang and Satun.

Minimum temperature 22-24 C. Maximum temperature 30-31 C.

Easterly winds 15-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 1 meter and 1-2 meters off-shore.
