Weather Forecast During 1-2 Jan 2013, the active high pressure area from China extend to cover upper Thailand. Cool to cold weather in generally is likely in the upper Thailand while minimum temperature will be below 16 C in many places of the North and the Northeast. The active northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and southern Thailand. Increasing and isolated heavy to very heavy rain are expected in the South and strong wind wave in the lower Gulf with 2-4 meters high.
During 3-7 Jan 2013, the moderate high pressure will cover upper Thailand. Cool weather and morning fog is likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central and the East while cold remains on high mountains. The weakening northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf of Thailand and the South leading to less rain in the areas.
Warning During 1—2 Jan 2013, people in the South from Surat Thani southward should beware of heavy rain. All ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution and small boats in the lower Gulf from Surat Thani downward should keep ashore.
