Weather Forecast During 6-9 Jan, the moderate high pressure area from China covers upper Thailand. Cool weather and morning fog in generally is likely in the areas while minimum temperature will be below 16 C in some places of the Northeast. Cold to very cold on mountaintops is expected in the North and the Northeast. The moderate northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and southern Thailand. Widely scattered rain is likely in the South with about 2 meters of wave high in the lower Gulf of Thailand.
During 10-12 Jan, another strong high pressure area from China will extend to cover upper Thailand. Cooler weather with 2-4 C drops is expected in the North, the Northeast, the Central and the East.
Tropical storm “SONAMU” in the lower South China Sea will become weak and move to Malaysia during 7-10 Jan. Increasing rainfalls and isolated heavy rain are expected in the South from Surat Thani downward. The moderate wind wave is expected in the lower Gulf with 2-3 meters high.
Warning During the period, People in upper Thailand should take care healthy from cooler weather. During 7-11 Jan, people in the South from Surat Thani downward should beware of heavy rain and small boat in the lower Gulf keep ashore during the period.
