General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time At 01 a.m. today, Tropical storm “RUMBIA ” in the South China Sea was centered at latitude 17.5 degrees North and longitude 115.6 degrees East. The storm is moving northwestward at about 18 km/hr with maximum sustained wind near the center about 83 km/hr. This storm is expected to make landfall over southern China between Hong Kong and Hainan Island on July 2, 2013. This storm is too far to affect Thailand, but people who need to travel to the southern China in the next 2-3 days should prepare for the safety.

The southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand still remains weak. It is expected to strengthen by tomorrow; this will bring more rain to the country again.
