General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time The rather strong high pressure area from China extends to upper Thailand causing the strong monsoon trough lies across Thailand while the south west monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. During 26-27 September 2013, torrential rain is likely in upper Thailand and isolated heavy rain especially in Mae Hong Son, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Pracin Buri, Nakhon Nayok, Chanthaburi and Trat.
During 28-29 September 2013, the monsoon trough will lie across the Central and the lower Northeast. Isolated heavy rain is expected over Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Sara Buri, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
People in the areas should beware of heavy rain during the period.
At 0100 a.m. LST today (26 Sep), the low pressure cell over the South China Sea nearly the Philippines was upgraded to tropical depression. It is forecast to move to middle of Vietnam during 30 September — 1 October 2013 and affect isolated heavy rain in the eastern Northeast of Thailand.
