General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time At 4.00 a.m. on 18 July, Typhoon “RAMMASUN” centered over the central South China Sea or at 18.7 degree North, longitude 113.0 degree East, with maximum sustained wind about 160 km/hr. The storm is moving northwest with speed about 20 km/hr, and it is forecast to move to the Hainan Island today then the border between southern China and upper Vietnam later. The stronger southwest monsoon will prevail over the Andaman, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. More rain, as well as isolated heavy with windy, is expected over upper Thailand and the south West Coast as followings:
- During 18-19 July: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lam Phu,
Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom and Mukdahan
- During 18-20 July: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phetchabun Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong and Phang-nga.
All above areas are advised to prepare for the safety and warned of the severe weather condition. The strong wind waves are likely 2-4 meters high in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf during 18-20 July. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.
