General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time The monsoon trough lies across upper Myanmar, Laos and upper Vietnam, and the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. More rain is likely over Thailand with isolated heavy rain in the North, the Northeast, the East and the upper South. People especially in affected areas should beware of the severe condition. The provinces include Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Tak, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat and Ranong. The wind waves are expected about 2 meters high in the Andaman Sea, and all ships should proceed with caution.
Typhoon “HALONG” over the Pacific Ocean east of the Philippines is forecast to move to southern Japan and South Korea. During 7-9 August, all travelers should check the weather forecast before departure for the areas. This storm has no effect on Thailand.
