General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time Typhoon “KALMAEGI” landed over upper Vietnam and downgraded to tropical storm, At 04.00 a.m. LST on 17 September, This storm centered west of over Hanoi, Vietnam or at latitude 22.0 degree North, longitude 105.5 degree East, with sustained winds of 100 km/hr, is moving west with speed of 30 km/hr. It is heading to upper LAOS and downgrade to tropical depression tonight. More rain is expected, as well as especially heavy rains much of the North and the Northeast during 17-18 September. People in the areas should beware of heavy rain and windy. The areas include Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen and Chaiyaphum.

The active southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Torrential rain with heavy to very heavy rain is likely in the East and the South. People in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong, Chumphon, Phang-nga, Phuket and Krabi should beware of the heavy rain and collective rainfall. The strong wind waves in Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are likely 2-4 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore trough 18 September.

Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen and Chaiyaphum.

Central Part Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain

in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, Saraburi and Pha Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

Southwesterly winds 10-30 km/hr.

Eastern Part Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain

in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chanthaburi and Trat.

Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 30-33 C.

Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters.

Southern Part (East Coast) Very cloudy with scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain

in Chumphon, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Minimum temperature 24-25 C. Maximum temperature 31-34 C.

Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters and 2-3 meters offshore.

Southern Part (West Coast) Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain

in Ranong, Phang-nga, Phuket and Krabi.
