General Situation The monsoon trough lies across Myanmar and upper Laos PDR, and the strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand. Rainfall remains over Thailand, as well as isolated heavy in the South. The strong wind-waves are expected 2-3 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keeps ashore.

Typhoon “GONI” due east of Taiwan is expected to move to Japan during August 25-26. All travelers should stay tuned for the weather update. The storm does not have a significant impact on Thailand.

Southern Part (West Coast) Cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain

mainly in Ranong, Phang-nga, Phuket and Krabi.

Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Phuket upward: Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershower areas.

Krabi downward: Wave height 1-2 meters.
