General Situation The active low over the South China Sea will move to the Gulf of Thailand by today (21Dec). After that it will cover the South of Thailand during 22-23 December and the strong northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf. More rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rain is expected over the South. People in the areas should beware of heavy rain and possible flood. The provinces include Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Ranong.

The strong wind waves 2-3 meters high is expected in the Gulf. People should beware of inshore surf, and all ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution. Small boats keep ashore.

Beside, the strong high covering upper Thailand is weakening. Rising temperature is expected over upper the country but cool weather remains over the North, the Northeast and the upper Central.

Eastern Part Cool in the morning with strong wind.

Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters offshore.

Southern Part (East Coast) Cloudy with widely scattered thundershowers

mostly in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Sonkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.

Minimum temperature 21-25 ?C. Maximum temperature 30-32 ?C.

Northeasterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

From Chumphon upward: Wave height about 2 meters.

From Surat Thani downward : Wave height 2-3 meters.

Southern Part (West Coast) Partly cloudy with widely scattered thundershowers

mostly in Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

Minimum temperature 21-25 ?C. Maximum temperature 31-33 ?C.

Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters offshore.
